Welcome to the Perfect Manifesto post highlights for May 2021.

If you’ve been reading for a while you may know that I’m an admirer of strongman competitions – the ability to lift up a range of heavy objects is something that always inspires me to keep picking up the weights at the gym and made me realise how much further I can go!

One of my favourites is a guy called Mark Felix, at age of 55 he is still competitive at a highly competitive level and recently broke the Silver Dollar Deadlift World Record, pulling 515kg!

To top it all off, I understand that unlike many of his competitors Mark is still a part time professional in the sport, working as a plaster.

Mark congratulations for continuing to break new grounds, for being an inspiration you are my featured person this month!

Wishing you the best in your success.

Features:

Body Language:

As part of my confidence series I started thinking about how body language can be essential in portraying your confidence. Here I explore some quick fixes to help you look and become more assured in how you portray yourself.

Gurus:

Originally written for Tribe Media, this piece was updated and adapted to look at programs. These are the stable of self-improvement gurus marketed as the blue print for success. Here I explore the errors in this thinking and make a plea when it comes to your personal growth to focus your education on principles rather than practice. Intrigued? Check it out.

Self-Improvement Movement:

The Self-Improvement movement is full of toxic and negative people who only want you to stay in your funk so they can make money off you and feel better about yourself. There I said it! This post looks at these people and a manifesto for a better self-improvement movement.

Fears:

In the eve of the years leading up to my final school days I was plagued by an unexplained anxiety which pushed me and my family to the limit. It wasn’t until a great teacher stepped in that I was able to understand and embrace my fears.

‘About’ Update…

After realising my about page hasn’t been refreshed for nearly two years, I decided to create a whole new page using the WordPress block editor. I’d love to hear your feedback, please do check it out.
