One simple way to improve your job application

Want to know how to make a job application or covering letter more appealing to your potential new employer?

For many years when I completed job applications I always thought from the perspective of myself – the skills, knowledge and experience that I could offer – which in theory sounds right because I am showing why I was the most qualified person to do that position.

But the problem is I was competing against a pool of applicants who were also just as qualified to do the job.  Therefore I didn’t stand out to be offered interviews.

What I have been doing the last three weeks (in pictures)

Usually when I have a long term break from writing I usually don’t have an excuse and have just been lazy.  But this time I have the perfect excuse – as they say a picture is worth a 1000 words I thought I would save the time writing by explaining the last three weeks in pictures.

Firstly I got a confirmation date to move into the first ever house I would be buying.

I packed all my stuff as quick as possible.

Have a financial routine

I set some post mid year resolutions because I wanted to get my self-improvement goals back on track after a slump. I detail how I will go about achieving my goal using SMART objectives, with a contingency plan for if I am not able to do this

Why have I set this?

I have more financial obligations – I am good with my money, but I need to organise my payments and savings better so that I do not turn into someone who lives from paycheck to paycheck. Continue reading “Have a financial routine”
