“Birds of a feather flock together”

Friends are the biggest influence in our lives, even more than family.

If you don’t believe me, look at many school reports for badly behaved children.  They will be full of things like:

He is a good person, he’s just in the wrong crowd.,,,,

She has potential but her choice of friendship groups is questionable….

Tom is a negative influence on him…

And it is important to realise this if you want to make your life better – because essentially, you are, who your friends are.

Dealing with the negative

I bumped into someone from my old team the other day.  With her was my replacement who had begun the role a month ago.

 I am not rude and didn’t want to blank her, so I began talking to her so that she wasn’t just sat back observing our conversation.  I introduced myself and asked how she was finding the job.  Her response surprised me.

This week has been my most testing time in my new job.

3 attitudes to a better life

Life is great.

Yet we take for granted the small things, such as access to education, health care and sanitation.

Many of us are miserable as we express dissatisfaction in every area of are lives.

I did not have a great start last year – I was miserable.  But by the end of last year I was loving life.  I adopted the following 3 attitudes to living a better life:

  1. Don’t be negative
  2. Embrace losing
  3. Make an effort to improve everyday
