What has been the first thing that you achieved today?

Not sure?

This morning I started the day by getting up and cycling down to the gym. Upon checking my stop-watch I realised I had shaved some time off my cycle.  I thought

“Great my first achievement of the day!”

achievement

Although it is rather small in the context of things, I wanted to focus on the positives because it is something that I did better than yesterday.

There are many days where I am not achieved personal bests at the gym or achieving new things – but I always reframe this as:

“Well my first achievement of the day is I got out of bed on time and made the effort to go to the gym”

And this can apply to anything

“I got out of bed and…”

“I did some writing”

“I went for a run”

“I had a good conversation with my partner”

“I called a friend who I have not spoken to for a while”

“I avoided eating crap”

“I cleaned the house…”

“I made someone laugh on social media”

Always appreciate the things you do do – they are your achievements for the day and they are better than doing nothing

So I will ask again

What has been the first thing that you achieved today?
